Human Growth Hormone (192 Amino Acid)

Synonyms:Somatotropic hormone, Somatotropin
Description:Growth hormone is synthesized, stored, and secreted by the somatotroph cells within the lateral wings of the anterior pituitary gland. The physiological activity for which GH is best known is the promotion of growth of bone, cartilage, and soft tissues. GH secretion is maximal at puberty and declines after 30 years of age. Overproduction of GH leads to acromegaly while lack of it causes dwarfism. Growth hormone is released in response to the hypothalamus-derived Growth hormone releasing hormone. Production of GH is inhibited by Somatostatin and Activin A and enhanced by GRP (gastrin releasing peptide), IL1, IL6, VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide), and some Thymic hormones.
Source:E.coli
Stability:The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20C. Reconstituted hGH is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Purity:Greater than 99.9% by SDS-PAGE gel and HPLC analyses.
Endotoxin Level:Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg).
